Technical requirements for smartphone control

  • The controlling device and the teleprompter must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure that no VPN is active.
  • Connection can be set up via a router or a phone in hotspot mode. Internet access is not required; all commands and text are transmitted locally.
  • Verify that your subscription level supports this feature: Pro or higher allows control of one teleprompter, Studio subscription allows two or more.

Local network access permission for iPhone

When using the app on an iPhone, you need to grant permission to discover devices on the local network. Depending on your phone model, this may be requested during installation or at step 4.

If the permission was not granted for any reason, go to Settings Apps SUFLER.PRO and enable the Local Network checkbox.

Connecting to the teleprompter

  1. Open the remote control settings in the SUFLER.PRO app on all devices to be paired.
  2. Select the control mode: Phone/PC.
  3. Enable remote control.
  4. On the device you will use to control the teleprompter, tap Add Device.

5. Select the desired device from the list of found devices on the network.

Repeat steps 4–5 to add additional teleprompters if needed.

6. On the controlling device, tap Control from this Device.

You can rename a connected device by tapping on its name.

Now, when you start any text on the controlling phone, it will display on all connected teleprompters.

All text settings are transmitted from the controlling device, except for mirror mode, which is enabled individually on each teleprompter. The toggle button appears on the screen when the teleprompter is paused.

Control Panel Interface

  1. Text Scroll Progress Bar.
  2. Text currently displayed on the teleprompter.
  3. Font size.
  4. Text speed.
  5. Play / Pause.
  6. Start delay timer.
  7. Text alignment.
  8. Title of the current chapter / script and navigation buttons: next / previous.
  9. Vertical / horizontal teleprompter orientation.
  10. Restart script.
  11. Line spacing.
  12. Text playback mode: repeat script / repeat chapter / no repeat.
  13. Text margins.
  14. Center focus.

Control tips

  • Manual text scrolling can be useful if your team includes a teleprompter operator. To do this, swipe the text up or down.
  • Controlling the teleprompter from the text editor offers more options. From there, you can both operate the teleprompter and write or edit text in a single window.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Disable VPN if it is active.
  • Make sure you are using the latest app versions.
  • Restart the app; if the problem persists, reinstall it.
  • Check that the app has permission to discover devices on the local network.
